Through its operations and activities plan, the company Hifa-Oil often incorporates youth who receive special attention, particularly in terms of further educational opportunities and earning valuable business experience for their future. Guided by the idea of their own energy transition, which has a special significance for the Hifa-Oil company, a decision was made to give students the opportunity to express their vision and view of the energy needs and future changes of a fuel company operating on the BiH market.
The "Student Competition 2024" brought together the top students from Bosnia and Herzegovina's design and economics universities. Connected in groups, they worked passionately to complete the tasks assigned to them while also competing for a significant reward. Mid-December of last year saw the Hifa-Oil corporation send out a call for applications to faculties. Following the application deadline, student groups were established and assigned project tasks with a three-month deadline.
„Through this competition, we aimed to bring together students from various faculties and inspire them to submit their best analyses of the market's current situation as well as the future in energy sector of B&H as a whole and our company. Since we cannot avoid making changes during the energy transition, we wanted to let students know about our company and the new prospects that are emerging in the market. We congratulate each group for a job well done and a task well completed. We also hope that, in addition to receiving the prize, the groups will gain important knowledge and be better prepared for new experiences that will be important for their future employment and studies.", said prof. dr. Venan Hadžiselimović, general manager of Hifa-Oil.
The winners of the Student Competition 2024 presented a unique idea and vision of the plan of activities that the Hifa-Oil company should go through on its energy path of transition, and by a unanimous decision of the jury, they won the cash prize of 4,000 KM. Amila Dizdarević from the University of Zenica's Faculty of Economics and Emina Alagić from the University of Bihać's Faculty of Economics made up the winning team.
We are happy that this competition brought us together, and in particular that it allowed me to get to know my colleague Emina, who attends a different university. We will never forget this experience," student Amila Dizdarević stated.
"We rarely get the chance to put the theoretical information we acquire in college into reality, but this project allowed us to put what we learned to use. Our university education also greatly aided us in developing our interpersonal, cooperative, and soft abilities. We didn't think we would win, but we believed in the quality of our work, and this triumph gave us the motivation to keep going and use what we had learnt in both our career and personal lives," student Emina Alagić said.
A group comprising Hadžera Zukanović from the Faculty of Computer Science, SSST University, Sara Ažman from the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo, Edin Sarajlić from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zenica, and Jasmin Konjić from the European University Brčko took second place and a monetary prize of 1000 KM.
For their efforts, the other teams that took part in the competition's final event also received financial rewards.
Hifa-Oil company congratulates all students on their demonstrated knowledge and skills, as well as the faculties they come from. Through the competition, all students demonstrated exceptional skills, the capacity to think analytically, work in a team, communicate and cooperate, the quality of project development, and conceptual solutions. As this competition showed, young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina can undoubtedly compete with their peers anywhere in the world and provide creative and insightful solutions for the modern world and demands in any sector.
In order to inspire young people to always strive to find solutions to problems and achieve even better and better results in life and business, the Hifa-Oil company will continue to provide opportunities for them to demonstrate their capabilities and be inspired by positive stories in their environment.
