In 2020, the company Hifa-Oil decided to take over "Energopetrol" from Prijedor and purchase the Terminal in Brezičani near Prijedor. Before the purchase, these terminals were not used and had never been put into operation before. It was necessary to invest in the Prijedor terminal in order to fully modernize it and make it operational.
Hifa-Oil's plans were to invest significant financial resources in this terminal, as was done earlier with the terminal in Zenica. The terminal in Prijedor has larger capacities and its total capacity is 18,000m3. With its location and capacities, this terminal can become a serious energy point even outside the borders of our country, which is the plan of the company Hifa-Oil, which intends to turn it into one of the most modern in the region.
Investments started immediately after the purchase and have recently been intensified, and the passenger tracks located within the terminal have also been renovated.
"It is estimated that in the future, with the equal use of other types of transportation of oil derivatives, we are getting closer to transportation by railways, and I believe that the terminals we have should be slowly prepared and put into operation," believes Izudin Ahmetlić, president of the Hifa-Oil Group.
The value of investments in the first level alone is about 10 million KM, and the planned investments are many times higher. The company Hifa-Oil through these investments is developing a strong energy hub in Bosnia and Herzegovina, connecting terminals with storage capacities of over 34 million liters in Zenica and Prijedor, as well as Terminals in Vogošća and Sarajevo.
